Why we Need to Study Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a practice that helps you become comfortable in most situations, by using acceptance and inner peace. It has helped those who were suffering due to disease to feel much better about it. It later found application as a way of handling the daily life challenges we face. Its use is now in more areas than before. In mindfulness, you get to remain alert and aware of the present moment, and not judge any of it.
You thus get to deal with whatever it is in the best manner possible. You do not allow yourself to wallow in pain and pity, or to make comparisons to better times, which is usually what triggers most of the pain. By making comparisons, we introduce the idea of a deficit. The rejection we feel then becomes the thing that frustrates, causes us our peace and pain sets in. You also get to find ways to make your situation better, thus getting out of a bad one if that was what it was. The best way to deal with a situation has often been seen as starting once you accept it. You shall not see the same level of success by following any other route.
When facing a challenging situation, focusing on the negatives hardly ever yields anything positive. You should, however, find yourself in a worse off state. The cycle can keep going on till you can no longer help it. The quality of our thoughts has a lot to determine the quality of our lives. Those areas you mostly focus on are the areas your life is most likely to head towards.
The best way of coping with adversity is to focus on focus on getting better and better. You shall aid that journey by having positive and kind thoughts. You can even go out of your mind and think of positives form other areas. You can, for example, think of your loved ones and how lucky you are to have them in your life. There shall be a reaction in your body that shall introduce healing properties into it. You shall thus stay mindful of your thoughts in terms of their type and quality, as you aim for those higher levels. Dopamine and oxytocin are chemicals that get released when your mind is flooded with positive thoughts. This shall then calm the body, and allow it to heal.
Mindfulness education covers the development of a positive mindset and the necessary tools to stay focused and at peace. There are certain tools such as chants you can learn to use, to manage the desired state.
