Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)

Alternative Medicine
Homeopathy is an alternative medicine system pioneered and developed by a German physician, Samuel Hahnemann, around the end of the 18th century. It safeguards from the unpredictability and ambiguity of practices and remedies of alternative medicine. Traditionally practitioners of scientific medicine looked down upon alternative treatments as unscientific. 5. Alternative medicines don’t just heal ailments.

6. Alternative medicine recognizes the true nature of disease and sickness. People might abuse of natural medicines the same way as they do it in the case of synthetic drugs. Today doctors and other health professionals are taught to respect their patients and their opinions.

Alternative medicine has also seen the diversification of the medical framework. It is a form of alternative medicine and relies on the aforementioned techniques as well as the intake of herbs to treat various health conditions. Herbal medicine, also called Herbalism, is a traditional medicine practice that uses herbs for bringing about therapeutic effects.

Limonene: A compound found in citrus fruits, has demonstrated apoptotic effects in liver cancer cells in vitro. So many people are becoming interested in how holistic healing works as an alternative to prescribed drugs, many of which treat symptoms rather than deal with the underlying causes of disease.

Alternative Medicine
More and more people than ever before are becoming interested in natural medicine and a more natural alternative to drugs and surgery for certain health conditions. There are many different types of alternative medicine available today and there is an ever-growing interest in everything from a homeopathic remedy for arthritis to finding qualified complementary alternative medical practitioners in a particular area.

Another reason why complementary medicine has become popular is the changing attitude towards patients on the part of doctors and other health professionals. One of the surveys conducted on alternative medicine concluded that people felt there were added benefits from alternative medicine use, lower cost, and perceived fewer side effects.

One of the advantages of alternative medicine is that it encompasses a broad range of therapies, treatments and products, thus the search for obtaining positive results doesn’t flow on a narrow path at all. Pine Bark Extract (Pychogenol): In vitro studies showed this herbal antioxidant to selectively inhibit growth of human liver cancer cells while slightly promoting the growth of normal, healthy liver cells.

Probably in the medical field nothing is as controversial as alternative therapies and medicine in general. Cruciferous vegetables are especially beneficial for liver function and may reduce the symptoms associated with liver cancer. Basically, alternative medicine is known simply as a healing practice that does not fit into the defined methods or traditional or allopathic medicine, or conventional western medicine as it is also known.

Treatments like homeopathy, and other interventions such as yoga, rhythmic breathing exercises, meditation, relaxation, and chanting techniques other complementary treatment, many of which have significantly reduced stress-induced psychological disorders.

Patients will increasingly expect healthcare professionals to have knowledge of both conventional and alternate therapies. To prevent supporters of alternative medicines that have shown some … Read More..

Why Burnouts Are Now Recognised As An Official Disease

Many of us will feel extreme levels of stress during our work lives, often at the end of a busy period or when suffering in our personal lives, but burnouts are very specific types of work-related issues. With workplace mental health issues on the increase, burnouts have now been added to the World Health Organisations list of official diseases.

With some experts long claiming that burnouts are simply symptoms of stress, exhaustion or depression, new research suggests that people who go through burnouts don’t believe their job is the main cause. But, whatever the cause, burnouts are serious health issues and can affect your mental and physical health.

What Is A Burnout?

The term “burnout” is relatively new, first being used in 1974. Simply put, if you begin to feel less capable, exhausted or begin to detest or dislike your job, then you are showing signs of heading for a burnout. Usually, the stress which contributes to a burnout stems solely from your job, but your overall lifestyle can actually be a huge contributing factor. Your individual personality traits can also lend themselves to burnouts, with pessimism and perfectionism known as contributing factors.

Most people spend the large majority of their day at work, so if you begin to dislike where you work or your job, then this can take a huge toll on your wellbeing.

Signs and Symptoms of a Burnout

Before the WHO recently recognised burnouts as an official disease, it wasn’t previously diagnosable. But, although many doctors were unable to diagnose burnouts as a recognised illness, it was still taken extremely seriously in the medical world. Recognising the signs and symptoms of a burnout is vital if you feel as though the warning signs are already there, or if you already suffer from mental health issues.

Feeling alienated from workplace activities is one way that some individuals felt was the start of a burnout, as they begin to view their jobs as frustrating or stressful. Employees may find themselves becoming cynical about their working conditions or environments, or the people whom they work with. This then causes them to distance themselves from those people.

Many employees who suffer from burnouts note feeling emotionally exhausted. Burnouts and mental health issues can cause people to feel unable to cope, drained, tired and lacking in energy. This can then lead to physical symptoms, such as headaches, hair loss, bad skin breakouts or stomach issues.

Burnouts can directly affect normal day-to-day tasks, both at work and at home, and worrying about these tasks or feeling unable to carry them out normally can have a direct impact on workplace performance. Burnouts share the same symptoms as most mental health conditions, so it can sometimes be hard to get to the root of the problem if you are also suffering from anxiety or depression.

Prevention and Treatment

Whilst the term “burnout” may sound like a permanent condition, it is reversible. Individuals who feel burned out, or think they are heading for one, … Read More..
